Construction of an Irrigation Pond in Jaén, Spain

The project consisted of the construction of two adjoining reservoirs, located in the municipality of Espelúy (Jaén, Spain), with a combined regulation capacity of approximately 180,000 m3, which will be filled by pumping with a flow of more than 700 l/s.

The purpose of having two regulating elements instead of a single pond is to decant the silty materials from the pumping, which takes its water directly from the Guadalquivir River, in the first one.

Creating this pond for the Iraizoz Irrigation Community was a challenge for the company, due to the large volume, both in terms of water capacity and earthworks.

The following tasks were performed:

• Stake out of the pond.
• Adequacy of slopes to withstand water pressure.
• Profiling of embankments and cuttings with perimeter paths.
• Perimeter paths and ditches for water evacuation.
• Reforestation of trees in the affected area.

• Speed, convenience, and simplicity in design thanks to the TCP-MDT 9 program.
• Easy to adapt to other formats and vice versa.
• Easy to attach images with the TCPImage module.
