Earthwork Design and Calculation in Mérida, Spain

The objective of the work was to obtain the volumetry of an earthwork executed on a channel, in which the civil work was already initiated.

To achieve this objective, first, we completed the surface of the original terrain by integrating points into the bottom of the drained channel and thus correctly defining an original surface. Next, we modified the surface obtained by topographic survey carried out after the execution of the earthwork, adding theoretical excavations in some areas, since at the time of measurement they were already executed.

Finally, the volumetry was calculated, both by difference of surfaces and by transverse profiles, verifying at all times with the composite transversals that the calculation was being carried out correctly and that the differences in level between both surfaces were adjusted to the project.

In this case, the benefits that we have provided to our client consist of providing them with a volumetry data very close to the earthwork that they have actually executed, and through which they will be able to carry out the corresponding certifications.
